CounterPULSE, one of the Bay Area’s most unique incubators and presenters of new work from artists of all kinds, has a spiffy Web site and a new blog that you should check out: http://counterpulse.org/blog/

The blog is part of a thorough Web site that includes schedules of classes and workshops as well as performances at the group’s 1310 Mission Street space in San Francisco.

The Dance Discourse Project #3
Dancers Debate the Body Politic
Wed. May 7, 7:30pm Free / Offsite at Project Artaud Theater, 450 Florida St.
In this third installment of a lively series of discussions about Bay Area dance, moderator Jessica Robinson invites Jo Kreiter, Ledoh, Sara Shelton Mann, Miguel Gutierrez and Rob Bailis to discuss the multiple layers of the political in their work, how bodies are politicized through movement, and how activism plays a unique role in Bay Area dance. Co-presented by ODC, CounterPULSE, and Dancers’ Group.

Words First A Monthly Solo Performance Series
Wed. May 7, 7:30pm $7-10 (Members $3-5)
The solo performer’s art takes center stage on the first Wednesday of the month. Tonight presents an eclectic evening of dance, wordplay, opera and phone calls from mom. Featuring Jennifer Jajeh, Debra Netkin, Brian Rosen, Chris Burns and Elizabeth Mendana. No Reservations Necessary

Mindball Presents: Research & Development and
the R & D Free Jazz Gospel Supreme 80

Fri. May 9, 8 p.m .(Doors at 7:30) $10 (Members $5)
This is the second in Mindball’s new concert series Music for Interested People. The horn-heavy avant-funk of Research & Development and the spacey, mind-bendingly catchy songs of the R & B Free Jazz Gospel Supreme 80 will be accompanied by arresting live video processing and projections by Philip Cole.
