Goodbye Oscar, Hello Pierre

While California Shakespeare Theater artistic director Jonathan Moscone has been at San Jose Repertory Theatre, he's been discussing more than directing Long Day's Journey Into Night.Moscone's production of the Eugene O'Neill drama begins previews at the end of the month, but his association with San Jose Rep will stretch further into the year. The two theaters have announced a Bridging the Gap initiative, which essentially means they're pairing up for their first co-production. The show is Pierre Marivaux's The Triumph of Love, which will be adapted and directed by Lillian Groag, and it opens at Cal Shakes' Bruns Amphitheater in August, replacing the previously announced An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde. The production then heads south to open the San Jose Rep season in September. For Cal Shakes information go here; for San Jose Rep information go here.
