A Good and insightful review. The first act was like I was in a hurricane with the actors rushing in and off the stage with breakneck speed. I have to admit I was a little confused by all of the sub plots but hey I am getting old. Also I knew very little about track teaching since I graduated in 1944 at a Catholic High School in a small town in Ohio. Of course we did not have track teaching only nuns and priest beating our brains out so we could learn about the world.

I was very impressed with all of the acting especially Ben Freeman as the editor of the high school newspaper. This 18 year actor has great diction and great presence. I first saw him in "Children of Eden" and "Big River" at the Willows
Theatre. His confrontation with his Latino girl friend played exciting by Adrienne Papp in the second act was powerful. Shoresh Alaudini as the cool cat Damian was exceptional in that role.

This was a production that you either hated or like. After the production there were great insightful arguments going on by the first night crowd.
